🦅 SoundEagle in Art, Poem and Gem ― September Sapphire 💍💎

SoundEagle in September Sapphire

🌾 September Birthstone: Sapphire 💎

September Sapphires 💍💎

Forsaken Creatures Seizing Wastelands of Forlorn Desires

Thy Spoken Gestures Greeting Lime-Ember Campfires

Four Shaken Measures Teasing Long Strands of Zircon Attires

High-Token Treasures Meeting September Sapphires

Famous Sapphires 💍💎

Stated in the BADGE, ARMS, FLORAL AND OTHER EMBLEMS OF QUEENSLAND ACT 1959 [as reprinted and prepared by the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel as in force on 10 December 1997 (includes amendments up to Act No. 81 of 1997)]:

The sapphire, of any colour, is the gem emblem of the State [of Queensland in Australia].

Good wishes to all and sundry whose birthdays fall in September!

A maiden born when autumn leaves 🍂

Are rustling in September’s breeze; 💨

A Sapphire on her brow should bind 💎

To bring her joy and peace of mind. 🕊

The Birthstone for September is Sapphire, a coloured gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide). Sapphire exists in a wide range of colours such as blue, yellow, brown, purple, violet, pink, orange and green. On the one hand, it is the traditional gemstone for the astrological signs of Virgo and Libra. On the other hand, it is the traditional gift for a 5th anniversary or a 45th wedding anniversary.

  1. K-w I was inspired by your poetry! So I have had a crack at it myself! Although this is effectively a little bit of social commentary! In its own right!

    Dirty diamonds ushered under streetlights!

Glittering false prisms crafted by life!

    Sidewalk prisons, shivering at night!

Hardened gems sculpted & chiseled by Ice!

Flawed by fake promises & monies entice!

Precious stones tarnished and ravaged be vice!

    • Hi Craig! Thank you for visiting and subscribing to SoundEagle’s main website here, and for composing a poem on the spot as a result of being inspired by the poetry celebrating and accompanying the September birthstone, Sapphire, which is a precious gem in its own right.

Whilst your poem has not been constructed with perfect rhyming, rhythmic, metrical and syllabic schemes, it has nevertheless captured the gritty reality of street life and crimes, where expensive gemstones, much like prestigious arts, are forms of currency into which dirty moneys and bloody deeds, illegal drugs and deadly weapons, as well as other tools of dark trades can be converted, insofar as the beauty, profitability and desirability of gemstones can be hijacked, usurped, co-opted or exploited to serve some nefarious or criminal ends.

SoundEagle would very much like to know how and why you have chosen this particular theme or topic for your “little bit of social commentary”, including what(ever) connections or associations that you found or identify between your poem and that of SoundEagle. Well done, Craig!
