The shapes of snowflakes are highly dependent on temperature and humidity. Simpler shapes are more common at low humidities whereas more complex varieties of crystal are formed at high humidities.

Wow, what a great celebration of the miracle of the snowflake. People are like snowflakes. As they fall through life, they are changed and shaped by events and the prism of their own inner strength. People can look the same from a distance, but the closer you get, the more you realize that each one is unique, even identical twins.

Although the subject of the poem is snowflakes, I feel as if it is more than this. For me it feels as if you are addressing something/someone who’s beauty/wonder fascinates you and so you question the many facets of the thing of beauty and how it affects you and how you receive it. The poem is filled with awe and appreciation and yet a sense of never ever really being able to own it – it has an ephemeral quality, much like the snowflake.

A celebration of snow, SoundEagle. I live in the Oregon rainforest, so we get very little snow if any at all. I miss it and basked in this winter wonderland. The galleries of snowflakes are stunning. This planet is magical and beautiful beyond words. ❤

Yep, I did enjoy the blood moon. it was quite spectacular. Raw and sinister in a way but beautiful and summoning in another sense. p.s. lov the poem. if you were a moon, you wouldn’t be able to hear the wind whispering the answers you wish for. 🙂

Beautiful snow tribute there, thanks for sharing! My kind of cold is Southern California cold which maybe gets down to 30–40 degrees Fahrenheit at its “worst.” Only time I’ve been in snow is in the mountains here, Santa’s Village and all that as a tot…nice memories. ❄️😊
