You have arrived at a garden of art, science, poetry, music and ideas, and landed on a platform that serves to connect diverse domains and to collect various strands of the interests and workings of SoundEagle🦅. The garden has gradually become a reasonably fertile and multidisciplinary playground. Hopefully, it will always remain varied but consistent enough to entice and satisfy those who are artful and perceptive, those who delight in detail and texture, and those who resonate with the philosophical underpinnings and aesthetic approaches being featured on this website.

📑Posts and Pages📃 will sprout from time to time in the garden. It is SoundEagle🦅’s goal and pleasure that you find ample enjoyment and meanings in perusing those 📑Posts and Pages📃, which, as you might have observed, tend to be polysemic, pluralistic and multifaceted, given that they often contain complementary prose, poetry, art, graphics, cartoons, animations, games, puzzles, music and video, sewn and strewn together synergistically as well as aesthetically, but whose denotations and connotations are left in your hands, in your eyes as a beholder, in your ears as an audience, in your mind as an interpreter, in your heart as a connoisseur, in your patronage as a reader, in your discretion as a fellow blogger, and in your whim as a freethinker.

Please feel free to leave plenty of your footprints, to bare your soles and souls, to share your thoughts and feelings, to join SoundEagle🦅 on a special quest of empathy and consilience, via wisdom and understanding, through discovery and appreciation, all of which are further bolstered by the liberal provision of creative and bespoke integration of multimodal affordances and multimedia presentations. For those who have a playful or adventurous streak, your patience with wading through 📑Posts and Pages📃 will be rewarded by music and video as well as interactive games, puzzles and animations, all of which await your discovery and enjoyment whilst imparting to you a wonderful sense of creative agency as you explore this many-splendoured website whose multifarious contents are eclectically created or curated with a prominent emphasis on the winsome meshing of both functionalism and aestheticism.

One of the ongoing goals of SoundEagle🦅 is the nuanced conveyance and stylized rendition of various messages and ideas through certain thematic threads and inventive interfaces whilst connecting, organizing and bolstering a variety of textual, visual and aural elements, which are intended to be mutually enhanced by their multiplicity and facilitated by their multisensory contexts, interactive potentials and synergetic significance, irrespective of their degree of confluence and interdependency. With respect to the style, design and content, SoundEagle🦅 hopes that you will find something to your liking, to jolt your memory, to pique your interest, to linger in your mind, to provoke a discussion, to question a paradigm, to gain new insights, to see from multiple perspectives, to become more holistic — something that provides the extra spark for you to be more enriched and consilient — something born of, or connected to, the interests of SoundEagle🦅, which include the following domains:

SoundEagle🦅 added a quote:

The ISEA Model Identifying Human-Nature Relationships with respect to Sound, Music and Noise“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.”  Lawrence Pearsall Jacks, Education through Recreation (1932), p. 1

Click here to contact SoundEagle🦅 (Web Administrator and Designer) Designed and administered by SoundEagle🦅, this website has served as a multimedia playground to investigate the polyphonic dance of ideas, to consider their manifold eddies, their unexpected simultaneities or juxtapositions, as well as their multiple embodiments and modes of expressions, as they unfurl through the lenses of plurality, the faces of diversity, and the facets of multidisciplinarity, intermingling from time to time, and topic to topic, with the semantic fields of culture, the speculative realms of philosophy, the aesthetic worlds of art, and the analytic spheres of science.

Given that some of SoundEagle🦅’s 📑Posts and Pages📃 are fairly lengthy and laden with multimedia, attempts have been made to reorganize and tighten the structures and presentations in the hope that the website can load and display its contents faster. The contemporary tertiary education system and some of the intramural politics and bottom-line approaches operating at universities can be detrimental and even hostile to academic research, especially multidisciplinary undertakings. There are both limits and segregations imposed on intellectual liberty with respect to research territories and knowledge demarcations, beyond which there are barely scant platforms and rare opportunities to generate some debates, discussions or studies on issues never, seldom or inadequately debated or contested before. Since demonstrating a substantial engagement with existing literature and critiquing contested areas of thought are enshrined and mandatory, those areas that have not been researched or contested would tend to be much less favoured or noticed, if not automatically consigned to or considered as non-academic or second-rate materials. In other words, there are significant barriers to becoming maverick and holistic in one’s academic life, and to functioning as an exemplary liberal scholar, in addition to the added risk of being ignored, abandoned, consigned or ostracised as anachronistic proponents or promulgators of erudition and education. It is unfortunate that those who conduct research at colleges, universities or other tertiary institutions face constant pressure to have clearly defined research topics and agendas, which are supposed or expected to be concentrated on and shaped by the most contested, recognized or commensurable areas that comply or align well with the prevailing paradigm, academic climate and intellectual zeitgeist, in which ideas, data, models, methodologies and theories are created, examined, refined and fought over and over again by peers and rivals, and repeatedly quoted with zest by fellow scholars and aspiring students to show that they are up there with the most consequential leaders. Contests are usually fought contiguously, with rivals coming from within a discipline and focussing on specialism and micro-topics. At the multidisciplinary level, the dins and roars of such contests are few and far between, as fault lines seldom straddle continents of knowledge. Even when they do, they are often dismissed, misunderstood or ignored rather than examined or contested. The upshot is that academic research is increasingly reduced to playing an intramural game for “points” that earn coterie repute and disputable expectation, where conditions conducive to unbridled, exploratory or revolutionary ways of conducting research or investigation have become very illusive, even more so as colleges and universities opt to operate under the model of mass education and customer satisfaction, all too often underfunded, overburdened, vocationalized and instrumentalized, becoming more performance-managed, metricized, casualized and marketized under the pervasive influence of privatisation, consumerism, audit culture, managerialism and neoliberal orthodoxy.[]

SoundEagle in Art, Science, Observation, Research, Development, Biomimicry, Biomimetics and Biomorphism

The rich affordances and features available on this website constitute a multipronged approach for circumventing the many restrictions and conventions imposed by academic journals whose contents are often hidden behind paywalls, insofar as self-publishing certainly presents numerous advantages, which, when combined with the dynamic nature of webpages offering contents that can be freely viewed and shared by visitors and commenters, are attractive to the likes of SoundEagle🦅 who has been an inveterate freethinker, teacher and communicator.

Apart from the accessibility of academic works as mentioned earlier, this website and its 📑Posts and Pages📃 have also been meticulously invested with tools and presentational details to mitigate other extant issues that remain to be addressed by scholarly publications. Academic papers published in most if not all conventional journals tend to be highly limited in scope, format and feature, mostly presented in monochrome or greyscale and rarely in colour; cannot include large or complicated illustrations, maps, charts, schematics and/or statistics; unable to incorporate audiovisual contents, videos, animations, pop-ups, hyperlinks, comments, revisions, extensions, user interfaces and other real-time, dynamic or interactive components, let alone social media integration; and ill-suited or ill-prepared to deal with highly innovative, interdisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary works, not to mention that there continue to be few or no referees and reviewers qualified or knowledgeable enough to evaluate them properly and cogently without intellectual oversight and bias.

The longest 📑Posts and Pages📃 are effectively multimedia publications meant for serving users as versatile and comprehensive enchiridions or reference books. Well-formatted and in-depth discussions, analyses and conclusions aside, they contain plenty of hyperlinks, tooltips, quotations, charts, tables, illustrations, animations, infographics and bullet-point summaries as well as navigational menus. Each book-length 📑Post or Page📃 simultaneously exhibits the features and combines the functions of a long-form essay, investigative research, academic dissertation, scholarly monograph and dynamic web document.

The 📑Posts and Pages📃 featured on this website are not inclusive of earlier publications, older academic oeuvres, dissertations and theses as well as unpublished works.

The pluralistic experiences offered to you in some highly entertaining multimedia 📑Posts and Pages📃 comprise beautiful and stylistic presentations of Text Art, Photos, Videos, Music, Illustrations, Computer and Web Graphics as well as Games and Animations, many instances of which exemplify the malleability, permeability and cross-fertilization of ideas and cultures, whose fecundity, fluidity and visibility are often facilitated and enhanced by potent rendering tools, social media and emerging technologies, which have various implications for the modulation, transformation and documentation of procedures or practices, including blurring the boundaries of design, creation, interface and workflow, as well as facilitating the understanding of artistry through form, invention, interaction and information.

Under these scenarios, this website has increasingly become a creative, thematic conduit through which fusion, experimentation, appropriation and transformation flow, and where reinterpreting, repurposing, recycling and reinventing can freely combine contrasting or opposing elements from the real and the imaginative, the mundane and the exotic, the popular and the esoteric, as well as the secular and the religious, the artistic and the scientific, whilst embracing the richly textured terrains and novel landscapes of the bespoke, unique, controversial or idiosyncratic. Not surprisingly, many traditionally straightforward hobbies and hitherto simple pastimes, including art, craft, gardening and photography, have taken on more heterogeneous characteristics as they intermingle with other domains and interests, becoming more infused with the purviews of other fields and disciplines.

It is hoped that some of the offerings on this website can also serve as a bridge, conduit or crossing between the East and the West, between the laypersons and the experts, between the proven and the experimental, between the old data and the new findings, between the documented and the anecdotal, by way of judicious translation, edification, promotion and dissemination of information pertaining to the long cultures and traditions that have accompanied certain fields and disciplines and their ardent champions through the dynamic synergy of various pursuits and domains, including prose, poetry, art, graphics, cartoons, animations, games, puzzles, music and video.

In turn, these fields and disciplines can become both catalysts and arenas for recognizing, (re)creating and (re)contextualizing various pursuits and domains with multiple reference points as a means of reflecting and communicating the current state of community and society, and as a way of fostering mutuality, reciprocity and complementarity.

Understood in these terms, the value of certain fields and disciplines can truly begin to be appreciated and defined beyond the straightforward results and immediate implications of admiring, studying, developing and improving them, to the extent that partaking in these fields and disciplines becomes not just an attempt at, or a process of, accruing and capturing knowledge, but also a fruitful endeavour to use certain pursuits and domains and their myriad embodiments and representations as a means of expressing ideas, which are themselves products of instinct (nature), experience (nurture) and technology (tools), guided and shaped by principles and forms of knowledge.

As far as SoundEagle knows, he is a person of fine spirit, a human being of admirable integrity and reciprocity.

  10. An Eagle uses the wind as an extension of itself giving lift and an ever changing perspective for its Eagle-eyed observation. There is no separation between an Eagle and it’s world. The world is the Eagle, the Eagle the world. Hunger is the impetus for action and bird becomes a missile that rarely misses its target. But sometimes even Eagles miscalculate and a Sound Eagle has to be Master of both the breath coming in and the breath going out. Not doing, not reacting is also a calculated activity when practised by the wise. Thank you for your comments on Dragonshades and your Elephant story. I have not published the comment on the About page although I appreciate your explanation. Being aware that we all have our own perspective is the first step. Being aware that we can never fully understand the perspective of another is step two. Accepting that we all are doing our best seeing the world from our own perspective including the mistakes we make while doing so is a great gift to ourselves. The Blog designers in their wisdom have given us the power of choice to receive, accept, reply or trash a comment. There is a fifth option and that is to cherish the comment without publishing and keep it in our files to reread at a later time when we have a deeper understanding.. This is a luxury situation within Blogworld that is not always so easy in daily life.

  31. The way you wrote your goals, apart from having spend 15 minutes looking at the dictionary trying to find out what most of the words meant, is the best well put About page I´ve read.

    Liked by 2 people

  32. This is a very impressive blog. It is hard to create a blog that has so many separate branches; however, the significant consideration you put into each category helps maintain relevance for every field. Also, your organization of this blog makes it easily manageable for newcomers such as myself. You blog is great for those that want more than the typical afternoon break — your blog clearly promotes thought. I really mean this, as reading your “Soundeagle’s Writing Guidelines” post reminded me of being in my Academic Writing class at UCSB.

There is one suggestion that I have for the blog, though I would understand if you prefer to disagree. Each individual post contains a lot of information. For example, the quote page had many interesting quotes rather than just one or two. This is usually fine, but sometimes, it can detract from the power of something that deserved to be given more attention. Hopefully the reader does spend enough time to thoroughly contemplate the messages of such content, but it is not guaranteed they will even look at more than half of them before they become lazy and quickly read through to get to the end. Also, I am sure you know this already, but it can take while to load some of the pages.

Thanks for reading my blog, and good luck on the continued success of the Soundeagle blog. Happy holidays!

    • Hi Cameron, SoundEagle is delighted that you have taken the time and care to review this blog, which you consider to be “very impressive”, whose organization “makes it easily manageable for newcomers”, whose contents “clearly promotes thought”, and whose Writing Guidelines hark back to your “Academic Writing class at UCSB”.

You have rightly observed that some of SoundEagle‘s posts and pages are very substantial in content. They have to be for the following reasons:

      1. The subject matters are (inter)related, expansive, complex, holistic, multipronged, multimodal, multifaceted and/or multidisciplinary.
      2. The fragmentation, truncation or division of certain contents is undesirable.
      3. Additional benefits and depths can be gained from holism, synergy and interactivity where the whole is more than the sum total of its parts.
      4. Page loading time can be a significant factor until WordPress can implement smart caching or AJAX technology such that loaded widgets are not reloaded.

In any case, judicious formatting with headings, subheadings, paragraphs, lists, graphics and illustrations as well as integrating multiple components and interfaces to achieve a stylish and consistent design should greatly increase clarity as well as readers’ attention (span) and retention rate.

    • Hi Steve! I left two comments on your post entitled “A Day Of Loving” in celebration of Valentine’s Day and as a response to your post there. For some reason, at least one of the comments just disappeared after I submitted them.

It seems that if any reader of your blog were to leave a comment containing one or more weblinks, their comment will disappear. You might want to consider changing the settings. Otherwise, I or any other reader will have no way of sharing or informing you of certain useful links to their posts or other sources.

It would be prudent to check whether my earlier comment has been put into your spam list due to your setting(s). You can resurrect the comment by unspamming it.

Please check your Discussion Settings and also Comment Moderation.

Thank you for your lovely message given in your post entitled “A Day Of Loving“. I would like to wish you, belatedly, a very happy Valentine’s Day with my special posts at the following:

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Romantic Orchid Display, Art, Poetry and Game 💝🕊💌💘

🦅 SoundEagle in Love and Dove, Art and Heart on Valentine’s Day with Gifts 🎁💝🕊💌💘

When you visit those two webpages, you are very welcome to leave your comments there. May you enjoy my poems and graphics as well as other contents there!

Please be informed that you should preferably use a desktop or laptop computer with a large screen to view the multimedia contents, because the two websites at https://queenslandorchid.wordpress.com and https://soundeagle.wordpress.com could be too powerful and feature-rich for iPad, iPhone, tablet or other portable device to handle properly or adequately.

      Enjoy!

    • Hi grevisangel73! Before January ends and February starts, SoundEagle would like to wish you, somewhat belatedly, all the best that 2018 can bring with a very special poem published in the post entitled 🎊 Season Greetings from SoundEagle: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Joyful Holiday 🎄🎅⛄.

SoundEagle left an extended comment in your post entitled I Knew A Man as follows:

The occurrence and the nature of wars and conflicts invariably raise more questions than there are answers. As Jane Goodall found out, our closest relatives, the chimpanzees, also wage wars against each other. According to some estimates, the largest global trade is the sale of arms and weapons.

I concur with the many cogent points and critical issues raised by Grevisangel73 in the post. In addition, I applaud the author for the wise and judicious choice of concluding the post with some excellent and pertinent quotations, which echo and encapsulate the wretchedness of war, violence, tribalism and jingoism quite well.

Hence, SoundEagle would like to introduce you to a post entitled The Quotation Fallacy “💬”, which can firmly constitute excellent food for thought as well as a splendid guide for living a more examined life. May you find The Quotation Fallacy “💬” as enjoyable as it is edifying!

      • Hi Sound Eagle, thank you for your kind words and comments. I also want to wish the best for you for this year of 2018. I have not been as active on here as I would like. The every day challenges and so little precious time have taken me away from my creative endeavors more than I would have liked.
I agree with the points you have brought up, they are valid and important. Hopefully further research and education will give us a better understanding of our violent natures, urges and tendencies.
I don’t know if it is possible to learn empathy, as higher functioning creatures, I would think we should be able to, but there are so many other contributing factors. It may just bean inevitability that we must live with.
I appreciate your comments and observations concerning my post,”I Knew A Man”.
I will be sure and check out both of the posts you mentioned.
I really appreciate your thoughts. That piece has been controversial, some people I don’t think were able to get the point that I was trying to make. At least I got them to think, Thanks again.

      • Thank you Sound Eagle. We have just returned home from a week of tears, love and laughter, as is always the case when saying a sad goodbye. And yes, we did have a quiet Valentine’s dinner on the road home in our motel at Ballarat.

  54. SE, thank you for following me on my riceandpease blog. Appreciated much! And before you complain that I’m not following you, I am! But I get far too much email as it is, so prefer not to hit the follow button, but still read posts by those I ‘follow’. 🙂 🙂

  57. SoundEagle, you’re truly an enigma. Your blog is a window into your creative mind, but still you’re able to withhold enough to leave me wondering. There are so many questions that I won’t even begin to ask. Now I’m off to dig deeper into your blog.

  59. Love your site. At first, it was overwhelming for me as it was impossible to ingest, digest, and rush through the valuable content. But visiting a second-time was great, relatable, and educational. I previously commented on your blog in Chinese New Year.
I love your quote and gravatar/logo too on your About page. I’ve always been fascinated by the eagle and its allegory. Beautiful arts.

    • Hello ThinkTalk! Thank you for your visit and compliment. Please be advised that the commenter named “craig lock” is not the owner of this blog, for he seems to be giving you and others the false impression.

Since your second visit to access “the valuable content” of SoundEagle🦅’s main blog “was great, relatable, and educational”, and since you like SoundEagle🦅 quoting a passage from Lawrence Pearsall JacksEducation through Recreation of 1932, you are cordially invited to peruse a very well-formatted, book-length post entitled The Quotation Fallacy “💬”.

In the post, SoundEagle🦅 has had to coin and define several new terms, including the Quotation Fallacy, the ramifications of which are very far-reaching.

May you find this post informative or beneficial to you in various ways. Though the post is very long and encyclopaedic, the navigational Menus located at the top and bottom of the post can help you to jump to any section of the post instantly so that you can resume reading at any point of the post over multiple sessions in your own time.

      Yours sincerely,

      • Hello Sound Eagle,
Thanks for straightening things up. I may have mixed the names up. My apologies if I did. I’ll take time to review where and how the mixups happened.
I’ll surely checkout The Quotation Fallacy. Thanks.

  60. I am excited to have stumbled across your site, it is exactly what my friend and I have been looking for. The knowledge here on the web site is truely needed and is going to help my friends and I significantly. It appears as if everyone gained a lot of specifics about subjects on the site and other pages and information also show it. I am not on the net during the night however when I get a chance im usually avidly searching for this sort of factual information or things closely related to it. I have three of my cohorts that have picked up an interest in this because of what I have found out about it and they will definitely going to be visiting this site since it is such an excellent discovery. I am also facsinated in government issues and coping with the drastic twists and turns in politics. Today I have been studying Older man romance

  61. (As requested, I am copying this here from a comment thread on my own blog.)
    —–
I do have some thoughts about the style and content of your posts and pages. The research and the ideas are impressive and engaging. The presentation is extremely rich, as opposed to my own comparatively minimal style. There is no particular post of yours where I can make this sort of general comment (as far as I know), so I’ll talk about it here.

By presentation, I mean not only the generous graphics, the choice of colours or fonts, the arrangement of blocks, the incorporation of video and music, and other visual and auditory elements, but also the unfolding of ideas, the exhaustive lists of examples or instances, which strive to be comprehensive at every point. I do use a large-screen monitor, and in fact my own blog is better suited to viewing on large displays, but even so, I would be more comfortable reading content of this depth in a simplified and comparatively boring format, such as a book-style PDF. This is probably just a testament to my own preferences and experiences.

  62. I am so sorry but the presentation of your blog is too whacky for me. You have seen my blog so you can see the difference in the way I design the posts. Today, the readership of my post is close to 3000 people reading around the world. Next week could be more because I am writing about the author globally revered. I didn’t see you commenting.

  65. I don’t know how I missed this page. I don’t know how anyone can! Hahahaha. It’s a huge achievement your blog, a masterpiece in many ways. Congratulations Soundeagle. I don’t understand why anyone would visit purely to say they don’t like the design, I’d rather not comment than make someone’s day a tad lower for no reason, but each to their own. I find it fascinating stuff all round.

  67. I too am an artist. Not visual, but rather sound…on soundcloud. I have some of my musical creations and collaborative works on soundcloud for others to enjoy as you have done here with your wondrous touch of color. I do mostly orchestral and pipe organ mixed with other artist’s work in collaborative creations. I do every orchestral instrument myself, as well as the pipe organ, all of it real instruments, not synthesized…other than whatever synthesis my counterparts did in their parts of the songs.

Your style of music is more abstract than mine. As a mathematician, I tend more toward the order that so much characterized the works of Bach, although I do incorporate more flare in one of the tunes I worked together with a heavy metal band. That was more of an experiment than anything else as I was trying to see how well it would work out. Some people like it, others don’t, which is cool.

Anyway, I hope you can accept this without misunderstanding or taking offense. The theme itself, centered around “Ishtar” isn’t really something with which I’m in agreement. I’ve studied ancient religions, and the religion of Ishtar (Easter in English, as you know) has gone through a number of variants through the centuries…the religion of fertility. So, as a follower of Christ Jesus, I cannot endorse the pagan origins of what is today called “Easter,” but I do very much admire the artistic work itself with the myriads of vivid color. The guitar body with the tree for the neck is neat. I like it.

You would like the front of my house at night. Every night, the entire front side is softly flooded with a seven minute cycle of 16.5 million hues of color throughout the entire spectrum of visible light. In other words, people going by and watching long enough will observe about 16.5 million hues of color every seven minutes.

My hat is off to you for your love of color. Thank you for all your hard work.

    • Welcome! Thank you for providing your feedback. Yes, there is indeed a great deal to take in for a Page📃 of introduction such as this expansive and multifaceted one.

There exist on this blog (much) more concise and straightforward 📑Posts and Pages📃, if the short and sweet is your cup of tea.

Should perusing long 📑Posts and Pages📃 appeal to you from time to time or just once in a while, there are plenty of arresting materials to satisfy you on the aesthetic, philosophical, spiritual and multidisciplinary levels at SoundEagle🦅’s intellectual home, sonic nest, musical den and artistic eyrie. Considering that you have been somewhat “impressed”, or rather, “overwhelmed” by some of the features of this blog, SoundEagle🦅 would like to bring your attention to the following special 👨‍💻 User Guide 📋 containing numerous tips and recommendations on how to take full advantage of the diverse features plus the bespoke bells and whistles available to you for enhancing your experience and heightening your enjoyment of this multifaceted blog to your heart’s content. You are welcome to instantly transport yourself there by clicking the large animated button below:

If you also happened to be an audiophile and connoisseur of fine sonic art, then you would be pleased by the availability of a fair amount of music on this blog, much of which consists of original musical compositions. These constitute only a fraction of SoundEagle🦅’s total musical output, as there has not been sufficient time to upload and showcase the rest online. Moreover, those published compositions are by no means representative of SoundEagle🦅’s musical oeuvres, which are very diverse. You are welcome to turn on your finest speakers or headphones, as some posts and pages will be playing music to you automatically.

Moreover, SoundEagle🦅’s musical compositions can also be savoured on SoundCloud, where they are more logically grouped and presented.

If you can read musical scores, then the following post will whet your appetite:

  77. Hi, SoundEagle. Today, I noticed that two of your comments posted on my blog earlier this month went to spam probably because they contained embedded links. When I tried to restore them and reply to them, the comments mysteriously disappeared from my comments folder! I don’t know what happened. But, I apologize for not seeing them sooner. I would also like to apologize for not attending to my blog on a daily basis. Perhaps someday I’ll return to my former regular blogging activities. We’ll see.

    All the best,
